Pastor Dean Cathcart and his wife of over 38 years, Jane, are talented musicians and enjoy connecting with the community through music. Jane is a pianist who uses her gifts during worship each Sunday, has accompanied many of the choirs her husband directed, and teaches private piano lessons.

During their years in Michigan, Pastor Dean was a member of the Cadillac Symphony Orchestra and directed the Roscommon County Community Choir in northern Michigan. Upon moving to Sedona, Dean joined the Master Chorale in Flagstaff for two years and the Verde Valley Sinfonietta where he currently plays trumpet. He is a chaplain for the Arizona wing of the Civil Air Patrol, assigned to the Verde Valley Composite Squadron 205 which meets at the Sedona airport.

“We think it is important for a pastor and his family to be visible in the community and to have opportunities to meet and interact with people outside of their local church family. This provides opportunities to share the gospel. That’s why we like to be part of organizations that are not connected with the church.”

They are active in the community and committed to serving the Lord through The Master's Bible Church and proclaiming His glory in Sedona, Arizona. The Cathcarts have two adult married children: a daughter and a son living in Washington state. They are grandparents to two grandsons and a granddaughter.
